Engine Control Modules (ECM) and Air Bag Control Modules (ACM) are event data recorders (collectively known as EDR’s and commonly known as “black boxes”) that are installed on the majority of commercial and passenger vehicles produced today, as well as in many vehicles dating back to 1994. The stored data from an EDR can provide pre-crash and post-crash data, including, but not limited to, speed and driver actions, such as throttle application, braking, and seat belt usage. The Vector Group’s managing owners were the first certified data analysts and the first certified trainers of this technology in the state of South Carolina. All of the Vector Group’s experts are trained and certified in the use of this technology and collectively have downloaded hundreds of EDR’s.
